A gem on a gem
Dominica is a hidden gem and Kings Point is a gem on a gem. It’s right by the airport and close to major routes around the island, while still feeling secluded and private. It sits above the bay with an unbelievable view of the sunsets. The sound of the ocean waves comes through the windows along with the cool evening tropical breezes (there is A/C in the bedrooms but we chose the ocean breezes!). The house itself is brand new and well equipped. We cooked fresh fish and dined on the incredible balcony. Not only is the house great, but it’s run by Pagua Bay House, which means we had full access to all their facilities close by, including the pool, bar, and restaurant. Both the food and cocktails are surprisingly great. I recommend “The Centipede”, but be careful — it is strong!
Big thanks to the staff at Pagua Bay, they can arrange anything. One day we got a car with a driver and spent the whole time exploring the north side of the island. He took us to a hidden waterfall a short hike off the road that we had to ourselves to enjoy. He also explained a lot of the local specialties and fresh produce, we stopped at several stands along the road to pick up supplies. Another day the staff arranged for us to go on a beautiful, peaceful river tubing adventure that ended within walking distance from the house. What a lovely experience and memory! We are looking forward to another visit soon.
